grades
You will get just one grade for the course, which will include both the grading of yor homework problem sets and your final project. We use the U, G and VG grade system for the swedish students, and the standard A, B, C, D, E european system for the exchange students. In the problem sets you are supposed to go in your answers a bit beyond of what was said in the lectures. Some (very few) topics that appear in the probem sets were not even mentioned directly in the lectures. The idea is that you research a bit for each question and answer in a few sentences. In the final project you are supposed to address in a few lines a general introduction of your subject and then concentrate in the details of the topic you chose: description of the physics, the problem addressed... etc. If you are describing experiments, you should mention what is their aim (what physics problem their are trying to address and by measuring what), as well as a description on how they measure it. The questions in the problem sets are graded in a scale of 0 to 3 points. The final project in a scale of 0 to 5. You should get at least 60% of the maximum number of possible points in the exercise sets AND in the final project to get a 'passed' final grade.
