How to get here

We can be found in the Ångström Laboratory in Uppsala. The visiting address is Lägerhyddsvägen 1, Polacksbacken, Uppsala. Our offices are in building 1, floor 2. This is the corridor one floor above the Ångström library.

The Ångström Lab is located about 3 km south of the railway station, on the west side of the river. You can find The Ångström Lab on Google Maps , and also a street view showing the main entrance.

Stockholm-Arlanda Airport is 35 km south of Uppsala and can be reached by train, bus or taxi.

Detailed instructions from the train station:

The best way to get to the department from the Uppsala train station is by bus. There are a few bus lines that connect the Central station to our campus: 20, 110 and 115 are among them. They depart every 30 minutes during daytime.

Line 20 departs the train station (Centralstationen) at 12.01, 12.31 and so on. Line 110 departs at 12.20, 12.50 and so on. They both take about 10 to 15 minutes to get here. You can buy a ticket using your cell phone or in the Pressbyrån convenience stores (cheaper). Note that you can't buy tickets on the bus.

Time tables and a journey planner here.

The bus stop to get off at is called "Polacksbacken". When you exit there, you will see two main structures. One is the former military base across the street from the bus stop, which now houses the computer science and IT departments. The second is our building, the Ångström Lab, which looks more modern and houses physics, math and some other sciences. It is the building you will see in front of you to your right if you get off the bus and continue on in the direction it was driving.

See http://www.angstrom.uu.se/eng/index.php.

Enter the main entrance; it faces the general direction the bus came from. There you will see the restaurant and reception. Continue straight on for about 100 meters, passing the "Siegbahnsalen" lecture hall on your left. After that there are elevators on your left. Go up to floor 2, exit the elevator, and enter the doors to our division, just next to the elevator (there's a sign saying "1C Plan 2" and "Fysik och astronomi, Kärn och partikelfysik"). Our offices are about halfway up the corridor. If you should miss those elevators and walk on, you will come to the end of the building after some time. There are elevators there too. In that case you should make a 180 degree turn when you exit on the 2nd floor and walk down to our corridor that way.

Here is a schematic map of the building. We are one floor up from the Ångström Library and two floors up from the Hägg and Polhem lecture halls.
