Pompyt

Pompyt is a Monte Carlo program to generate complete events in diffractive hard scattering processes in pp, pp^, gamma-p and ep collisions. In the models implemented, a beam (anti)proton `emits' a pomeron whose quark or gluon constituents take part in a hard scattering process when the pomeron collides with the other beam particle. Various options for the effective pomeron flux and the pomeron parton densities are available. A similar model with a pion exchanged instead of a pomeron is also included. The program makes use of Pythia 5.7 to access a wealth of hard scattering processes and initial state parton showers and Jetset 7.4 for the final state parton shower and hadronisation according to the Lund string model, thus giving a complete observable final state.
